About
From a young age, Frikshun was captivated by music. His love affair with tunes began at just 7 years old when he started collecting animated movie soundtracks from his school's tabletop sale.
By 14, Frikshun was all in, honing his mixing skills on a pair of secondhand turntables and a modest "Realistic" mixer he received for Christmas that year.
It didn't take long for him to make a name for himself, spinning tracks at local youth and community centers across his city. By 15, he'd landed a regular gig on the city's main pirate radio station.

“As long as i love it, i'm going to do it.”
By his late teens, Frikshun had risen to prominence as the go-to Hip Hop DJ in Wolverhampton. His reputation began to spread beyond the city limits, earning him gigs at Hip Hop jams, carnivals, and clubs.
Throughout the late '90s, Frikshun shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the DJ circuit. This includes legends like DJ Cash Money, multi-DMC world champions DJ Craze, DJ Noise, and A-Trak, as well as UK icons Mr. Thing and the Scratch Perverts. He and his crew even had the honor of opening for the iconic Luniz at their UK show.
Shifting his focus to music production in the early 2000s, Frikshun mastered the Akai MPC200 to garnere the respect of industry peers and continues to produce and release music to this day.
After a 20-year hiatus, Frikshun made a triumphant return to the decks, stronger and more versatile than ever. No longer confined to old-school and golden-era hip-hop, he's expanded his repertoire to include a wide range of genres he's passionate about—R&B, Soul, Funk, Drum & Bass, Reggae, and Revival. Leveraging his mixing prowess, Frikshun crafts an eclectic musical experience in every set he plays.
While Frikshun dabbled in rapping during the mid-'90s, it was never a craft he fully committed to. Discouraged by negative feedback from a highly respected wordsmith, he set aside his pen altogether.
However, the emotional rollercoaster of 2020, including the loss of his mother-in-law and the global lockdown, led him back to writing as a form of self-expression. This reignited a newfound love and passion for verbal artistry. Listen to Frikshuns music here.
